CHP Officer Injured in 405 Fwy Crash; All Lanes Closed
A CHP motorcycle officer has been injured in a crash that took place this morning on the NB 405 Freeway at National, just before the 10 Freeway in Palms, according to a live KTLA broadcast. All lanes in both directions of the 405 are closed in the area, and while there is a significant backup in either direction, cars in the immediate vicinity of this horrible crash also remain trapped on the freeway while officers re-direct all the traffic. The accident left two cars and one CHP motorcycle tangled. The officer was transported to UCLA medical center, and his condition is reported as serious. For drivers needing to travel in the area, reports indicate that there is a crash on Sepulveda near Venice that may involve an LAPD officer; look for alternates to that route, as well.
