Burglar Armed With Machete Rapes Woman In Her Own Home

A man armed with a machete broke into a woman's home and raped her early Friday morning.Around 12:30 a.m., Friday morning, the man broke into the home on the 1800 block of Pennsylvania Avenue in Boyle Heights by entering through a living room window. Once inside, he stripped down to his underwear before entering the woman's bedroom. The woman was woken up by the noise and saw the man at the foot of her bed, and then was raped. According to KTLA, the suspect was armed with a machete.

The suspect got dressed before leaving the house and running away. Authorities are asking for the public's help in finding the man, who is described as a Hispanic man around 35 years old, standing about 5'4" and weighing 150 pounds. He was described as having a "noticeable" scar on his upper lip.

The press release from the LAPD says the suspect was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with blue side panels, blue jeans, black tennis shoes, and a brown baseball cap at the time of the attack.
