An eight-car crash on the southbound 405 Freeway in Van Nuys this morning left 11 people injured.

The pileup on the southbound lanes of the freeway occured around 9:30 a.m., and involved a big rig, according to ABC 7.

40 firefighters arrived the scene to help the crash victims, reported the Los Angeles Times. The LAFD said one person was in serious condition, five were in mild to moderate condition, and the others had been treated and released, reported ABC 7.

The cause of the crash has not been determined yet.
