  • Alleged package thief resembles popular artist
A man wearing a white sweatshirt and black cap with tattoos on his face and right hand holds several packages under his arm.
The Irvine Police Department posted this photo of a man they accuse of stealing packages and have dubbed "Postal Malone."

    Topline:

Irvine police say they're looking for a man they've dubbed "Postal Malone."

The backstory: The man is accused of stealing packages from an apartment community on Spectrum Center Drive on Sunday. His facial hair and tattoos on his face and hand give him the resemblance of popular musical artist Post Malone.

Irvine Pun-lice Department: In a social media post, the Irvine Police Department noted the suspect "seems to love everything 'post,' including taking postal packages that don't belong to him." They added they didn't want to be "running in 'circles'" and wanted to "say they 'had some help'" in finding him — referencing Post Malone's popular songs "Circles" and "I Had Some Help" with country artist Morgan Wallen.

What's next: If you recognize the man, the Irvine Police Department wants you to contact Det. Ward at mward@cityofirvine.org.
