A man was arrested and charged for the fatal strangling of a retired Hollywood High School teacher, authorities said today.
The FBI/LAPD Fugitive Task Force arrested Scott Kratlian, 44 (who is also known as Scott Porter) on Feb. 18 in connection with the murder of 82-year-old Harry Major, according to a statement from the LAPD. The District Attorney filed murder charges against Kratlian today.
LAPD officers were notified of a death around 7:20 p.m. on Feb. 12 10 at Major's home located on the 1400 N. block of Vista Street. LAPD Det. Mark Morgan told the L.A. NBC Los Angeles reported that Major was a teacher for 30 years and mentioned how Twitter user @MrBigBear tweeted: "Harry Majors was legendary at Hollywood High. A tragic loss."
