A Southern California man who suffers from schizophrenia claims that he was dumped in front of a homeless shelter by a local hospital, rather than being taken to his mother's house, per his request.

NBC Los Angeles reports that Jesse Bravo has filed a court complaint against White Memorial Medical Center. He alleges that hospital personnel handcuffed him with plastic ties, drove him to the shelter and then left. He says that he then wandered Skid Row for two days with no money or I.D., until police picked him up and brought him home.

Bravo is on medication, and is married. He was reunited with his wife after his ordeal.

A representative from White Memorial and another from the Hospital Association of Southern California counter that the hospital acted appropriately.
