No Foul Play: Natalie Wood's Death Remains Ruled Accidental

While the drowning death of actress Natalie Wood was re-opened for investigation around the time of the fatal accident's 30-year anniversary, today the L.A. County Sheriff's Department says they have found no new evidence indicating foul play.

L.A. Now reports that William McSweeney, the sheriff’s chief of detectives, has explained "that several weeks of new interviews and other investigative work has uncovered no evidence that Wood's death was a homicide."

Wood's death will remain ruled accidental.

So is the case closed again? Well, sort of. Recently, even the LASD fumbled their explanation of the case's status, but McSweeney attempts to set the record straight by noting that "in such cold cases files are never really closed and they can be pulled off the shelf anytime information comes in that's worth looking at."

Currently, detectives are looking over some details, but it's unlikely anything else is going to affect the conclusion that Wood died accidentally.
