What Wines Go Best With a Double Double? You Can Learn!
Those of use with less refined palates (snort!) tend to pair an In-N-Out burger with, like, a Strawberry Milkshake or an ice-cold Root Beer. But if you want that Double Double with a nice glass of vino and just aren't sure which one to choose, LearnAboutWine has the solution. They are hosting a series of Blind Date Tastings (unofficially dubbed The In-N-Out Wine Tastings). To explain:
The wine will be served blind, so prepare to have all of your preconceived notions about which Merlot goes best with beef, tomato, cheese and lettuce put to the test. And you'll want to pace yourself—you'll be knocking back 1-ounce pours from 20 different labels, so before it's all said and done you'll be washing those cheeseburgers down with about a bottle's worth of wine (wouldn't be the first time...).
Up first: Merlot . Subsequent events will have Zinfandels (Jan 15), Cabernets (Feb 12), and Rhones (Feb 19). Each tasting seats 20. LearnAboutWine also noted on Facebook today that while In-N-Out said of the events "it sounds pretty tasty" they are not sponsoring or endorsing the tastings; LearnAboutWine buys "the burgers just like anyone else! Buckets of them... and [they] have Vegetarian options."
