Daft Punk To Play Vegoose!

This story is free to read because readers choose to support LAist. If you find value in independent local reporting, make a donation to power our newsroom today.

Here at LAist we've been a tad OCD about things lately. We had our little Spoon-fest last week, and our green movement today with Green LA Girl as our guest editor, so I suppose it's only fair that DAFT PUNK is our new obsession. Yes, we shared with you one of our favorite videos of all time for Harder, Better, Stronger, Faster (and what else those hands can do is on our list of things to find out) and we also were the first ones to share with you a review of the show Saturday night from the Los Angeles Sports Arena.

It is therefore with great pleasure that we have just discovered that Daft Punk is going to be playing at Vegoose this year. That's right Vegas, costumes, and outdoors (because we heard the heat was a bitch Saturday night).

Vegoose last year was pretty fucking cool as it was, and we were there to tell you all about it. Imagine with Daft Punk this year. Wow. Double wow. October 26-28, 2007 get ready for an invasion of robots.

Other acts that were also announced today include Rage Against the Machine, Iggy & The Stooges, Muse, Public Enemy, Queens of the Stone Age, Blonde Redhead and Gogol Bordello. Tickets go on sale THIS Saturday (7.28.07) at 10AM PST and cost $146.50 for a two-day general admission pass which at this point you pretty much have to get since who plays what day won't be announced for awhile.

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Instead, we answer to you and our connected community. We are free to tell the full truth, to hold power to account without fear or favor, and to follow facts wherever they lead. Our only loyalty is to our audiences and our mission: to inform, engage, and strengthen our community.

Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive from readers like you will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
