Another patient has died at the beleaguered King-Drew Medical Center. This is the latest in a long string of problems, which the county is finally addressing. Congresswoman Maxine Waters called yesterday for the resignation of Dr. Thomas Garthwaite, director of LA County’s Department of Heath Services. As more people point fingers, some in the community are asking why the problems at King-Drew were not addressed sooner. Was it too racially sensitive to address the problems at King-Drew? Was there not enough money, or will to do so?
