LAist was dismayed to read the paper today and find out that Lee "Hacksaw" Hamilton's afternoon radio show has been cancelled by XTRA. Hacksaw will now host four shows on both Saturday and Sunday, provide his self-proclaimed "best 15 minutes in radio" AKA "Hacksaw's Headlines" to start the XTRA afternoon replacement show, and provide other commentaries and reports throughout the day. Still, this amounts to a demotion for a guy who hosted the same...

One way to end a fight is by walking away. That's exactly what Milton Bradley did today, albeit inadvertantly. Legendary physician Dr. Frank Jobe has recommended Bradley have season-ending knee surgery. Bradley wants a second opinion, but it appears his season is finished. The only positive about this is that the stupid squabble between Bradley and Jeff Kent will come to an unceremonious halt. Otherwise, this will have a devastating effect on the Dodgers...

LAist is embarrassed to be a Dodger fan today. We had been trying to ignore the silly squabble between Milton Bradley and Jeff Kent, but it has now became national news thanks to Bradley telling the media that Kent is practically a racist. You can read all of the dumb jibes back and forth in these articles here. Bradley and Kent's behavior and comments are almost childish. First off, we wonder why this issue...

One of our favorite players has returned to SoCal. Today, Teemu Selanne signed a bargain 1-year $1 million contract to reignite the "Flying V" for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. The OC was apparently Selanne's first choice all along. "I knew exactly what kind of hockey the Ducks are going to play," Selanne said. "We know the new rules are going to be a good fit for me also. I know my family is...

It's been nearly half a century since the Dodgers left Brooklyn, and some people are still bitter. Murray Chass of The New York Times has a column today where he basically says the Los Angeles Dodgers have no business celebrating the 50th anniversary of their 1955 World Series championship team. This Sunday, the Dodgers will wear Brooklyn uniforms, and will have 12 of the 13 living members of the team participate in a ceremony....
