  • Tonight the famed Watkins Family Hour will be performing at the Largo at the Coronet. Australian singer-songwriter Lenka is poised to grace the Orpheum Theatre in Downtown. And, lastly, Canadian psych rock troupe Black Mountain will be headlining Spaceland. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Troubadour to catch British soul singer Alice Russell.
  • Tonight local producer/musician extraordinaire Jon Brion (LAist Review) will be jamming with friends at the Largo at the Coronet. UK-bred electronic mastermind Four Tet is poised to grace the Echo. And, lastly, LAist favorite Mike Watt will be performing at Redwood Bar & Grill in Downtown. But we strongly suggest heading over to Where Gallery to catch the final night of Exposure, a beauteous music-centric local photography exhibit. Local fringe rockers the Movies (LAist Review, #2) are slated to close out the month-long extravaganza!
  • Tonight Australian-American singer-songwriter Rick Springfield will be headlining the Roxy. Get rickrolled in person! North Hollywood-based indie rock outfit the Eye the Ear & the Arm are poised to play Mr T's Bowl in Highland Park. And, lastly, Sara and Sean Watkins of the now-defunct Nickelcreek will be performing at Largo at the Coronet's Little Room for the famed Watkins Family Hour. But we strongly suggest heading over to the main room at Largo at the Coronet to catch bluegrass singer-songwriter Gillian Welch with her longtime musical partner Dave Rawlings.
  • Treasure Fingers will be playing tonight at the Ecco Ultra Lounge | Picture via Treasure Fingers' Myspace Our Pick: Treasure Fingers @ Ecco Ultra Lounge Tonight Foo Fighters front man Dave Grohl will be a guest on the Greg Proops Chat Show at Largo at the Coronet. American Idol alumn Taylor Hicks is poised to grace the Roxy. And, lastly, LA-based indie rockers the French Semester will be headlining the Knitting Factory's AlterKnit Lounge....
  • Tonight Cleveland-bred rapper and GOOD Music signee Kid Cudi will be performing at Cinespace. Hollywood-based rapper Mickey Avalon is poised to flow at the Roxy. And, lastly, Austin's own art rockers ...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead will be gracing the Echoplex. Our sources tell us that the show will be recorded for Spaceland Recordings. But we strongly suggest doing whatever it takes to get into the Troubadour to catch one of New Zealand's most prepossessing and tuneful singer-songwriters Ladyhawke.
  • Tonight legendary Scottish rockers Primal Scream will be performing at Club Nokia in Downtown with Brian Jonestown Massacre in tow. LA-based buzz band Great Northern are poised to rock the Silver Lake Lounge in anticipation of their forthcoming 2009 release, Remind Me Where The Light Is. And, lastly, local electronic mastermind Nosaj Thing will be gracing the Echoplex with his burly beats. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Roxy to ring in 2009's Fist of God, the sophomore release from Toronto-based electronic duo MSTRKRFT.
  • Tonight local singer-songwriter Meiko will be performing at Saint Rocke in Hermosa Beach. Malaysian singer-songwriter Zee Avi is poised to grace Spaceland. And, lastly, Brooklyn's self-proclaimed ghost-punk outfit These Are Powers will be rocking the Echo late in the evening for this week's edition of Part Time Punks. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Echo early on to catch the Australian Barbecue, featuring Brisbane/Melbourne-based indie rockers the Boat People.
  • Tonight the Black Keys' front man Dan Auerbach will be headlining the El Rey Theatre. LA-based indie pop outfit the Bird and the Bee are poised to play the Tricot Showroom. New York's own shoegaze queen Asobi Seksu will be gracing the Troubadour. And, lastly, local indie rock trio Nico Vega are slated to open for the Von Bondies at the Roxy. But we strongly suggest heading over to Largo at the Coronet. Not only will Rickie Lee Jones be rocking the main stage (with a very, very special guest we're told), but Boston-based ex-Candy Butcher front man Mike Viola will be playing in the Little Room.
  • Tonight prolific Nebraska-based indie rock outfit Cursive will be spending their last night in LA at the Troubadour. Local experimental rockers the Mae Shi are poised to perform at the relatively hole-and-corner Pehrspace for a local blogger's birthday, Mouse of Classical Geek Theatre. And, lastly, Highland Park's own deep crooner Crooked Cowboy & the Freshwater Indians will be gracing the Echoplex with Gram Rabbit and Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros. Of course, we recommend trekking over to Meet Mix Mogul to catch Meiko and Evan Way of the Parson Red Heads, who will be playing for the third night of local photography exhibit Exposure. But we strongly suggest heading over to Spaceland to catch local singer-songwriter Richard Swift. Sydney's own indie rock buzz band Dappled Cities are slated to kick the show off.
  • Tonight prolific Nebraska-based indie rockers Cursive will be performing at Spaceland. NY/LA-based folk troubadours Elvis Perkins in Dearland are poised to headline the Troubadour. And, lastly, Highland Park's crown jewel, psych rockers Bodies of Water will be rocking out at Echo Curio. But we strongly suggest heading over to Redwood Bar & Grill in Downtown to catch folk rock singer-songwriter and ex-Golden Palomino, Syd Straw (LAist Interview).
