The unnecessarily abrasive Buddyhead-backed rock act known as the Icarus Line is poised to take on the Echo for this week's edition of Part Time Punks. And, lastly, LA-based alt-country troubadours Leslie and the Badgers will be gracing the Echoplex with none other than local chanteuse Eleni Mandell. But we strongly suggest heading over to the hole-and-corner Echo Curio to catch Stockton's own alternative hip hop and indie rock maestro Filbert.

Tonight LA-by-way-of-Michigan retro soul singer-songwriter Mayer Hawthorne will be gracing the Getty Center for this month's edition of 'Saturdays off the 405.' Iconic Chicago-based jazz-infused post-rockers Tortoise are poised to take on the Troubadour. And, lastly, local pop quintet Big Whup will be performing for free, in-store at Origami Vinyl. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Music Box to catch celebrated indie rock singer-songwriter David Bazan, who spent most of his formative years performing under the moniker Pedro the Lion. And, lastly, Brighton-based DJ quartet Soft Rocks will be making their LA debut at Chop Suey/Far Bar in Little Tokyo. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Troubadour to catch the City of Brotherly Love's own folk-infused indie rockers Good Old War, who are touring in support of their second self-titled studio-album. LAist favorites, Vancouver-bred rock quartet Yukon Blonde and Oklahoma City-based singer-songwriter Audra Mae are slated to kick things off.

Local retro 60s soul act Fitz and the Tantrums, who recently inked a deal with Dangerbird Records, are poised to grace Spaceland yet again, but this time with San Franciscan indie pop quartet AB & the Sea in tow. And, lastly, Highland Park-based psych-infused synth pop act Random Patterns will be taking part in the second night of a weekly series in Highland Park at the Garage. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Echo to catch Toronto's own alternative country act the Sadies, who will be ringing in their latest studio album—2010's Darker Circles.

The Good Life, an Omaha-based side-project from Cursive front man Tim Kasher, are poised to take on the Troubadour with none other than local indie pop outfit the Parson Red Heads (LAist Review, #2, #3, #4).

And, lastly, Brooklyn quartet Suckers will be celebrating the release of their debut album, 2010's Wild Smile, performing for free in-store at Amoeba Music in Hollyweird.
