  • Tonight British indie rock outfit the XX will be performing to a sold-out crowd at the Henry Fonda Music Box with none other than NY's latest buzz band, electro-infused rock duo Phantogram (LAist Review). Austin-based indie rock mainstays Spoon (LAist Review, #2, #3, #4) are poised to take part in the 2010 KROQ Weenie Roast, which boasts a bevy of heavy hitters, at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre. And, lastly, Boston-bred heavy rock progenitors Isis (LAist Interview) will, unfortunately, be calling it quits after some thirteen consecutive years with their head to the grindstone. Their final West Coast show, which is completely sold-out, takes place tonight at the Troubadour in West Hollyweird. But we strongly suggest doing whatever it takes to get into the Bootleg Theater to catch Silver Lake's own indie rock sensation Local Natives (LAist Interview, Review, #2). LAist favorites, local indie rock act Voxhaul Broadcast and indie folk outfit Marvelous Toy are slated to perform as well.
  • Tonight critically-acclaimed NY-based electro pop outfit LCD Soundsystem at the Hollywood Palladium with label mates, Brooklyn-based duo Holy Ghost!. Silver Lake's own indie rock sensation Local Natives (LAist Interview, Review, #2) are poised to perform to a sold-out crowd at the Troubadour with Brooklyn quartet Suckers. And, lastly, Austin/Brooklyn-bred electro pop duo Neon Indian will be taking on the Natural History Museum with none other than San Jose-bred DJ, hip-hop producer and founder of the hip-hop label Stones Throw Records, Peanut Butter Wolf for this month's edition of First Fridays. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Echo to catch Danish electro-infused soul duo Quadron, who are touring in support of their self-titled debut.
  • Tonight DâM-FunK, or rather the "Ambassador of Boogie Funk," is poised to perform at the Echoplex with local electronic masterminds Daedelus and the Gaslamp Killer. Canadian experimental indie rock trio Born Ruffians will be ringing in their second studio album—2010's Say It— at the the Echo with Young Rival. And, lastly, local retro 60s soul act Fitz and the Tantrums, who recently inked a deal with Dangerbird Records, will be gracing Spaceland with one of LAist's favorites pop quartets, Oh Darling. But we strongly suggest doing whatever it takes to get into the Henry Fonda Music Box to catch English folk rockers Mumford & Sons. LAist favorites, Australian folk outfit the Middle East are slated to kick things off.

  • Tonight Santa Ana-based indie rockers Aushua, who have implemented a swift name change, calling themselves Pacific Hurt from here on out, will be taking on the Silver Lake Lounge with Fullerton-based garage rockers My Pet Saddle in tow. Local pop quintet Big Whup are poised to grace Spaceland. And, lastly, LA-based...
  • Tonight Swedish electro pop outfit Miike Snow will be taking on the second night of sold-out, three-date stint at the Henry Fonda Music Box with none other than LAist favorite, Nashville's Daniel James, better known as Canon Blue. Berklee grad and Nashville's most promising pop folk songstress Madi Diaz is poised to grace Bardot in Hollyweird; It should be noted that Miike Snow will be DJing here after their show. And, lastly, loose-knit Durham-based collective, Daniel Hart's the Physics of Meaning will be taking on the Spaceland. The aforementioned violin virtuoso has lent his skills to St. Vincent, John Vanderslice and the Polyphonic Spree in times past. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Echo to catch LA-bred all-female, retro 60s pop rock quartet The Like (LAist Review, #2, #3), who recently recorded their forthcoming debut with none other than Mark Ronson and Phantom Planet front man Alex Greenwald. Local "retro-leaning" pop rock quintet the Young Veins, which of course features not one, but two former members of Panic! At The Disco, are slated to kick things off.
  • This week Swedish electro pop outfit Miike Snow will be taking on a sold-out, three-night stint at the Henry Fonda Music Box with none other than LAist favorite, Nashville's Daniel James, better known as Canon Blue. Critically-acclaimed NY-based electro pop outfit LCD Soundsystem are poised to perform to a sold-out crowd once at the Hollywood Palladium, as well as a second time at the Fox Theater Pomona. London-based electro pop maestro Dan Black will be headlining the Roxy in the heart of Hollyweird. And last, but certainly not least, hometown heroes, Silver Lake's own indie rock sensation Local Natives (LAist Interview, Review, #2) will be dipping into Los Angeles for two sold-out dates—one at the Troubadour, and another at the Bootleg Theater—before heading out to conquer the world again. Needless to say, it is completely beyond us how quickly everything changes.

And, lastly, local indie rockers One Trick Pony, Rademacher, and Seasons will be gracing the one and only All Star Lanes in Eagle Rock. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Smell in Downtown to catch Long Beach-bred one-man band Nima Kazeroun, who performs under the pseudonym So Many Wizards.

Mystery Claws, a side-project of Princeton's Matt Kivel that also features Warpaint drummer Stella Mozgawa, are poised to ring in their debut—2010's Hydaspia—at the hole-and-corner Pehrspace. And, lastly, San Francisco-by-way-of-Dallas experimental psych troubadour Joe Knight, who performs under the pseudonym Rangers, will be taking on Echo Curio. But we strongly suggest heading over to the Bootleg Theater to catch Walking Sleep, the venerable local indie rock outfit formerly known as the Flying Tourbillon Orchestra (LAist Review, #2, #3); The band will be celebrating the release of their debut record, 2010's Measures. LAist favorites, Seattle's most promising talent, folk singer-songwriter Zach Tillman, otherwise known as Pearly Gate Music, or the younger brother of Fleet Foxes drummer J. Tillman, is poised to kick things off.
  • Tonight critically acclaimed Canadian indie rockers Frog Eyes will be headlining the Echo, ringing in their fifth full-length studio album, 2010's Paul's Tomb: A Triumph, with none other than Seattle's own indie rock quintet Mt. St. Helens Vietnam Band in tow. Nashville-bred singer-songwriter/actor Landon Pigg is poised to grace the Troubadour with LAist favorites, Berklee grad and Nashville's most promising pop folk songstress Madi Diaz. And, lastly, San Franciscan folk singer-songwriter Emily Jane White, who is fresh on the heels of the US release of her second album to date, 2010's Victorian America, will be taking on Pehrspace. But we strongly suggest heading over to Spaceland to catch local indie pop outfit the Parson Red Heads (LAist Review, #2, #3, #4). LAist favorites, local alt-rockers Olin & the Moon (LAist Interview) and San Franciscan alternative country outfit Or, The Whale are slated to perform as well.
