But we strongly suggest heading over to the Troubadour to catch NY-based indie rock trio Nada Surf, who are kicking off a two-night stint in support of their latest collection of covers—2010's If I Had A Hi-Fi.   • With a painting of the yellow-brick road as their backdrop, it was easy to see that Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros know there’s no place like home. When they played in their hometown at UCLA’s Royce Hall on Thursday night, lead singer Alex Ebert and crew made sure that the audience felt at home, too. Sporting an overgrown beard and a worn-out suit he probably snagged from a thrift store, Jesus look-alike Ebert embraced the audience as he sauntered and danced across the stage, drawing cheers from the anxious crowd.

But we strongly suggest heading over to Myra Avenue at Santa Monica Boulevard and North Hoover Avenue where the first ever Silver Lake Jubilee, a two-day community festival which features a bevy of twenty-some-odd local bands each day, will be coming to a close. LAist favorites, local indie rock outfit Foreign Born (LAist Interview, Review) and all-female, retro 60s pop rock quartet The Like (LAist Review, #2, #3) are slated to headline.
