  • Hobbled and injured are adjectives best used to describe the Dodgers pitching staff. Chad Billingsley's return looks more and more doubtful as the days go by. Kenley Jansen will be out another 13 days while on blood thinners to treat heart arrhythmia, and Javy Guerra was just placed on the disabled list for a strained oblique.
  • When the calendar struck September 1, the Dodgers took on a look of a different team. They still have problems getting hits early in the game, however all of a sudden they can pull a game out of the hat. For the third straight game, the Dodgers won a one-run game and came from behind for a second straight game. This time it was the San Diego Padres who were the victims 4-3 in 11 innings.
  • Not a child fucker nor a creepy hog-riding adulterer can diminish the excitement of a new college football season for me. Hell, not even the biggest cartel this side of Medellin named the "NCAA" can suck the joy away.
  • Not even in a blue moon can the Dodgers get a win against an NL West team. The Dodgers came from behind to tie the game in the sixth but lost it in the 11th inning 4-3 to the Arizona Diamondbacks.
  • The Dodgers are schizophrenic. There is no other explanation why the Dodgers are hot one series and ice cold the next. They can resoundingly defeat the playoff contenders Pittsburgh Pirates and Atlanta Braves yet have troubles with the NL West. On Thursday night they lost yet again to an NL West foe, this time the Arizona Diamondbacks 2-0.
  • The newest Dodger Adrian Gonzalez came to the plate with runners on first and third and no outs in the first inning, the score tied 1-1. "Mariachi Loco" filled the ballpark as the crowd of 40,284 got to their feet.
  • It's done. The Dodgers and the Red Sox have officially completed the nine-player trade according to Dylan Hernandez of the Los Angeles Times.
  • Perhaps the Dodgers will end up needing Josh Beckett after all. In the fourth inning Dodger starter Chad Billingsley left the first game of a three-game weekend series against the Miami Marlins with a tender right elbow.
  • The Guggenheim Group is making a splash with the Dodgers in their first season at the helm of the club. After getting Hanley Ramirez and Shane Victorino in July, they are close to finalizing yet another blockbuster deal.
  • So how do I describe the Dodgers getting swept by the Giants? Perhaps that it was about as gorgeous of a performance as the lady's rendition of "God Bless America" during the seventh inning stretch. Like the Dodgers she too succumbed on the field, however she got to leave afterwards.
