  • KCAL issued a press release saying the Dodgers 3-2 victory over the New York Yankees attracted the high rating since 1998.
  • New York City can boast several advantages over Los Angeles. They have an excellent subway system. They are the financial capital of the country. Hell, their mayoral races are more fun. It's not like Eric Garcetti would ever post a weiner shot (cough) and have his spokeswoman call the recipient a "slutbag."
  • Yasiel Puig had been scuffling in the game. Well all the Dodgers had been scuffling in the game — they set a franchise record with 20 strikeouts in this game.
  • 60 years ago today an armistice agreement was signed that effectively ended hostilities on the Korean peninsula. It created the demilitarized zone that hovers around the 38th parallel that continues to divide families. After the armistice agreement, peace treaty talks were supposed to ensue to bring an end to the Korean War. It didn't happen. So let's celebrate that failure with the first ever showdown between Ryu Hyun-Jin and Choo Shin-Soo!
  • There are really no words, superlative or otherwise, to describe the artistry that is a Clayton Kershaw pitched game.
  • Unlike the last two games, there was no comeback in store for the Dodgers tonight as they fell to the Cincinnati Reds 5-2. They weren't going to go undefeated in their remaining 62 games. They were going to take their lumps here and there, and they surely took them tonight.
  • Top of the ninth inning the Dodgers were down to their final strike trailing the Toronto Blue Jays 3-2. Yasiel Puig was standing on first base having been walked by Casey Janssen to lead off the ninth inning. Both Adrian Gonzalez and Hanley Ramirez couldn't move Puig at all, both striking out.
  • It was an amazing game, the Dodgers 10-9 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays. 1. How did the Dodgers celebrate their first full day all alone in first place? To quote the press release, "Dodgers select contract of Carlos Marmol." That prompted my snark tweet of, "First place was nice, right?"
  • Earlier in the evening the Dodgers beat the Toronto Blue Jays 14-5. The Arizona Diamondbacks just lost to the Chicago Cubs 4-2.
  • Ryan Braun admitted to taking performance enhancing drugs and will be suspended for the remainder of 2013 which amounts to 65 games. Dodger fans rejoiced, the man who stole Matt Kemp's NL MVP award in 2011 was finally caught and all is well. But let's take a step back for a minute.
