At California State University Northridge’s art galleries, a new exhibit will showcase the work of two Chinese artists exploring the notions of urbanization and modernization of their country, according to a statement released by the university. The artists, Chen Qiulin and Fen Weng, will showcase over 40 pieces of photographic and video art.

losing arguments are set to begin today in the case of Brandon McInerney, a 17-year-old Oxnard boy accused of shooting his classmate Larry King to death in 2008, reports ABC 7. The trial has generated a great deal of national attention and controversy, in large part because King was gay.

After being stung by what officials estimate to be thousands of bees, a 95-year-old man has been treated at the hospital and released, reports NBC Los Angeles. The Redondo Beach man, whose name hasn't been released, was apparently walking past an apartment building in the 1700 block of Ruxton Lane yesterday afternoon where fumigators were trying to remove the bees' hive from the roof.

Apparently, motorcycle gangs don't like it when their names are appropriated to sell cutesy t-shirts to hipster girls. Weird, huh? But it's true. According to CBS News, the Hells Angels motorcycle gang is suing Silver Lake-based clothing company Wildfox Couture over a t-shirt made by the company that reads: "My Boyfriend's A Hells Angel."

A man dubbed the "tourist bandit" is being sought by the FBI after robbing two Bank of American branches this week, reports KTLA 5. The robberies took place on Monday in West Hollywood, and on Wednesday in Venice. Each time, the bandit told tellers he had a gun and a bomb, although they weren't in view.

After a string of businesses had their windows smashed in San Pedro, one man has been arrested, according to a statement released by the LAPD this morning. Since mid-July, 16 businesses have had their windows smashed, mostly by BB pellets but at least one by a brick. The vandalism all took place between 7:00 p.m. and 4:30 a.m., along busy streets in the area.

On Friday, Senator Kevin de León plans to get the Senate Select Committee on Sports and Entertainment together in downtown's state building on Friday for a hearing about the proposed football arena at L.A. Live. The stadium is tentatively called Farmers Field, and a funding proposal from developer AEG recently passed muster from the L.A. City Council.

Brent Zubek, who is suspected of killing a couple in Chatsworth and putting their bodies in a trash bin has been charged with eight felonies, among them assault with a firearm on a peace officer, reports CBS News. Police began their hunt for Zubek earlier this month, and although officials found him at the time, he was not arrested as he was believed to be armed and dangerous.

When a man was stabbed recently on the Metro, it so happened that standing five feet away from him was Todd Martens, a music reporter with the LA Times. Martens has recounted what he saw to numerous media outlets already, including the LA Times. The victim and attacker, he said, were engaged in a shouting match when the victim grabbed a chain and began swinging it over his head.
