A fire that broke out this afternoon in Ventura County has damaged two structures, reports NBC Los Angeles. The blaze was near Moorpark High School, around 4550 Tierra Rejada Road. It's not clear what the structures were, if they were homes, businesses or other buildings, but NBC reports that no one was injured.

Frank McCourt's woes don't seem to be going away any time soon. According to KTLA, the owner of the Dodgers is now being accused by Major league Baseball of "looting" $189 million from the team's earnings, and funneling it into personal use. MLB commissioner Bud Selig claims that McCourt siphoned off funds from parking revenue, used other funds to pay off personal debts, and put still more of the Dodgers' money towards "personal distribution."

An Oxnard man is in the hospital after trading gunshots with police officers, reports ABC News. The shots were fired after the suspect fled the scene of a domestic disturbance.

President Obama has had a busy 24 hours in Los Angeles. So far, he's spoken at two fundraising dinners in Hancock Park, eaten some classic SoCal fare, and is now heading to NBC studios to tape a segment with Jay Leno. We won't know what he says to Leno until later, but CBS News reports that during his dinners, the President laid out what he's accomplished so far during his tenure in the Oval Office.

Some businesses in the shopping center that houses Salon Meritage, the scene of the Seal Beach massacre, are donating funds to help the families of those killed in the shooting, reports L.A. Now. Most participating shops, including restaurants, professional offices and other salons in the Bay City Center are giving about 20% - 25% of the revenue they generate today. One is giving 100%.

According to NBC Los Angeles, the streaker came out onto the field dressed as a referee.

President Barack Obama announced today that he'll be pulling all the troops out of Iraq by the end of the year. In an announcement today, Obama said that "After nearly nine years, America's war in Iraq will be over," according to CNN.

A key witness in the prosecution's case against Conrad Murray had some strong words for the court yesterday, reports the Huffington Post. Dr. Steven Shafer, an anesthesiologist, told the jury that Murray "has been entrusted by Michael Jackson to look after his safety every night, and he has failed."

The teenage boy who left the Burbank airport on Wednesday and was later seen at the Abbey ordering a screwdriver has caused a great deal of speculation. Why did he wander away? And why -- and how -- did he end up all the way in West Hollywood? At first, it was reported that Cameron James Smith had wandered away because he didn't want to go back to the school he was headed for, which is described only as a "specialized school in Utah."

Charges against deputies at LA County jails continue to pile up -- the LA Times reports today that an FBI investigation into the county's possibly corrupt system now includes allegations that prison employees beat up a visitor for no reason. Gabriel Carrillo says that when he went to visit his brother in the Men's Central Jail, deputies arrested him after discovering that he had a cell phone. He says that they handcuffed him, took him to a break room and beat him up.
