People needing medical care came out in droves this morning to be seen by doctors, dentists and other health care professionals at a free clinic set up at the LA Sports Arena. The clinic was organized by a local nonprofit called CareNow, and an estimated 1,200 people were among the first there, reports the Huffington Post.

Four individuals have been arrested after toying with the emotions of passers-by by soliciting money under the guise of paying for the funeral of an infant. KTLA reports that Heather Nichols, 21; Catherine Mendez, 22; Chasity Doll, 20; and Jamari Carter, 26, allegedly held a sign on street corners with a picture of a baby and the dates "January 20, 2011 - June 4, 2011" written underneath.

As far as Lindsay Lohan goes, one thing has been confirmed today: she's not yet broke. After being harangued by Judge Stephanie Sautner in court today, hauled off in handcuffs and assigned to do community service at the morgue, TMZ reports that Lohan posted $100,000 bail.

The involuntary manslaughter trial of Conrad Murray started back up again today, after a couple of delays earlier in the week. ABC News reports that a session on Monday had been cancelled because the father of Dr. Steven Shafer, an expert anesthesiologist who was the prosecution's last witness, passed away.

A high school and an elementary school have been closed temporarily after two trains collided in the Colton area, reports KTLA. The accident involved a train running east-west and another running north-south, and took place at about 2:15 this morning. Six cars jumped the tracks, including three carrying carrying ferric or ferric chloride and hot asphalt.

Adding to a long list of regulations that deliberately ignore the uncomfortable fact that most children are sexually abused by people that they already know, Riverside County is considering a rule that would prohibit registered sex offenders from hanging Halloween decorations on October 31, would require them to leave their outside lights off that day, and would ban them from answering the door during the same hours.

After getting involved in phony marriages, three marines have been discharged with bad conduct. L.A. Now reports that the individuals, Vice Cpl. Jeremiah Griffin, Cpl. Joseph Garner and Cpl. Ashley Vice participated in the marriages so that Vice and her female partner, Jaime Murphy, would be able to collect housing allowances that the military provides to married couples.
