NBC has found the only person in the world who gives less of a fuck what people think of him than Simon Cowell, and has signed Howard Stern to replace Piers Morgan as a judge on "America's Got Talent." Stern made the announcement on his SiriusXM satellite radio show this morning, saying that "I take judging very seriously...in order to up my credibility, I will wear a suit."

At a City Council meeting last night, officials in Laguna Hills voted to ban registered sex offenders from the area's parks, reports NBC Los Angeles. The ban will apply to the city's 15 parks, and possibly to private parks as well.

In a refreshing change of pace, Lindsay Lohan has had a good day in court. Judge Stephanie Sautner, who in the past has had no qualms about delivering smackdowns to the errant starlet, told LiLo today: "Miss Lohan, you have actually done the work, and done it not only on time, but early," reports KLTA.

A church preschool director who lost her job because she lives with her boyfriend also lost her case in court last week, reports the OC Register. Sara Henry was hired by the Red Hil Lutheran Church in Tustin in 2002. She later moved in with her boyfriend and the two had a baby.

Firefighters who went to put out a blaze in Rowland Heights at 11:00 p.m. yesterday found themselves, once the smoke settled, in the midst of a huge pot-growing operation. KTLA reports that the two-story home was believed to be vacant, but in fact the clever pot-growers had boarded up the windows so neighbors couldn't see in, and had rewired the house to bypass the electrical meter.

Remember SB 1070, that racist pesky law passed by Arizona voters last year that requires police officers to question the immigration status of anyone they stop or arrest who they believe might be in the country illegally? Well, after being enacted by voters and then halted, in part, by a federal judge, a case will now go before the Supreme Court to determine whether the injunction should remain in effect, and possibly whether the law itself is constitutional.
