A man was killed early this morning in the Lake Balboa area when his own pickup truck ran him over as he was digging through bins looking for recyclables, reports City News Service. The man, whose name hasn't been released, was in his 40s and was found under the vehicle at about 12:40 a.m.

Two men were arrested after allegedly beating an autistic San Diego man they had been hired to care for, reports CBS News. The men, Matthew Alexander McDuffie, 27, and Michael Dale Garritson, 61, were hired by the alleged victim's family and had been working for them for two years.
