  • Don't let this little, frightened kitten scare you off: there's a lot of great comedy happening this week. Richard Lewis is around, as is Tracy Morgan. The Midnight Show is continuing their sketch show tour, and Garry Shandling is hanging out at Largo. Do it!
  • The indie shows are hopping this week, with great stand up and improv from downtown to Hollywood. If you can't find a show to enjoy in this line up, you're probably dead. BUT IF THAT'S TRUE THEN HOW ARE YOU READING THIS?!
  • As we continue to run through the weeks of another great summer, stop to smell the comedy roses once in awhile. This week, Humphrey Ker brings back his fantastic WWII-inspired show to the UCB stage, a new monthly stand up show premieres downtown and Long Way Down comes back from the brink.
  • As we roll into July, don't forget that this may well be the last summer we ever have, what with that whole pollution/Mayans/Lebron winning a title trifecta we've got going on. Get out, see shows, enjoy it while you can.
  • Paul Reiser is doing stand up in Brea, Mike MacDonald needs a new liver and Eddie Izzard wants some feedback tonight. Let's GOOOOOOO! If you've got a show coming up in a few weeks that you'd like to see listed here, email me and we can discuss.
  • Photo courtesy jeffgamble via LAist Flickr. June continues to chug right along, and the best parts of summer are starting to fall upon us. Don't waste these precious days watching Breaking Bad or whatever... go see shows! If you've got an upcoming comedy show you'd like to see listed in the future, email me. I might just come down from my pedestal long enough to reply. MONDAY 6/11 True Story, 7:30p iO West. The...
  • If you’ve spent any time walking the star-stamped sidewalks of Hollywood Blvd., you’ve certainly passed by iO West dozens of times. Their alumni roster reads like a comedian wish list for television and movie executives, but these days it’s the drinks menu that might just have you craning your neck for a better look.
  • There are plenty of great shows this week, with iO West hosting the LA Improv Festival and the LA Fringe Festival kicking around Theater Row on Santa Monica. Plus, the usual suspects like the Nerdist Theater and the Laugh Factory are providing unique one-off shows that shouldn't be missed. So don't miss 'em!
  • Time to take a break from the BBQ and plan out your week full of comedy!
  • Photo courtesy kristen_neveu_ via LAist Flickr pool. It's a big week for The Little Modern, the semi-new mixed use venue on Santa Monica Blvd. They've got the usual slate of variety shows, stand up nights and podcast tapings, plus a weekend devoted to the LA Indie Improv Festival. It should be a great week for all sorts of comedy, so get out and enjoy some shows. If you've got a show in the future...
  • More mold! Photo courtesy eyetwist via LAist Flickr. The Little Modern on Santa Monica Blvd. has put together another great week of indie comedy shows, while the Elephant Theater just down the street hosts The Apple Sisters' album release party. The Dan Band is downtown, Jeselnik is in Irvine, and the regular shows you've come to know and love in LA are all going strong. This is a great week for comedy. If you've...
  • There's no stopping comedy in LA. So don't even try. Remember that video of the guy that stole the tank? He tried to stop comedy, and look what happened to him.
