A man shot and killed a woman outside of a home in San Pedro last night before calling 9-1-1 and shooting himself in the head. The shooting happened in the 3100 block of Almeria Street around 10:30 pm, and it left the shooter in critical condition.

A basset hound was doused in lighter fluid, set ablaze and left to die in a ravine this weekend. Firefighters found the 3-year-old dog Buddy after a neighbor called in the fire, but it was too late for the little guy who was severely burned.
