Susanna Schick—or Pinkyracer as she is known in the cycling community—was sent to the ICU after she was hit by a car while she was biking down Spring Street Friday night. The crash left Schick with a minor concussion, a broken collarbone, six broken ribs, a shattered pelvis and facial lacerations.

Cops say a drunk driver rear-ended a tanker truck carrying 8,600 gallons of gas on the freeway last night, splitting the truck open and sparking a river of fire that completely shut down the 134 freeway.

Paul DeLisle, the bassist from Smash Mouth, took out a restraining order against his wife after claiming that she "repeatedly goes for my fingers, in an attempt to render me unable to play music, which is what I do for a living."

A tanker trunk carrying 8,600 gallons of gasoline exploded into flames on the 134 freeway this evening. Video and photos from the scene show that the blaze was pretty epic while it was raging, but when NBC LA aired footage of the fire, Angelenos really could not care less.

Family and friends of Azusa teen Kendrec McDade turned out wearing blue—the color of the football jersey he wore as a star at Azusa High—for his funeral today at the Metropolitan Baptist Church in Altadena. McDade's death at 19 has sparked questions about police conduct and racial profiling in Pasadena.

Cars are at the top of the food chain: a mountain lion suspected of mauling a mare at an animal care center in Lancaster ended up getting hit by a car yesterday. County animal control officers put down the cougar because it was so badly injured.

Jonathan Gold's latest Counter Intelligence column has us wondering if writing about a first-hand account with weed is some sort of hazing ritual for columnists in the Los Angeles Times. In the piece, Gold grudgingly agrees to attend a dinner put on by Starry Kitchen's Nguyen Tran that features marijuana-laced dishes.
