Paul DeLisle, the bassist from Smash Mouth, took out a restraining order against his wife after claiming that she "repeatedly goes for my fingers, in an attempt to render me unable to play music, which is what I do for a living."The claim was filed in Santa Cruz County court as part of a nasty court battle (or an apparently nasty marriage) between DeLisle and his wife Mary, according to TMZ.

Mary already took out a restraining order against Paul back in December, after claiming in court documents that he spit on her, poured drinks over her head, called her a "cunt," threatened to kick her teeth in and worse:

"[He] has slapped me in the head and back, thrown objects at me, locked me in a closet, locked me out of the house, broken down doors to get to me, pinned me on the ground and sat on my chest, dragged me out of bed by my ankles."

Paul got his restraining order a few weeks ago after telling the judge that his wife was kicked him, grabbed his hair, threatened him with a knife and went after his fingers. On the same day he got the restraining order, he filed for divorce. Both Mary and Paul DeLisle are fighting for sole custody of their poor 2-year-old daughter.
