  • Predating Ellen Page’s coming out in a speech last night at a Human Rights Campaign conference in Las Vegas was a 2008 sketch on SNL in which Page as host “came out” to her boyfriend after a Melissa Etheridge concert.   • Kanye West offered a few sweet nothings on Valentine’s Day with his remix of Beyonce’s “Drunk in Love,” featuring lyrics about impregnating a girl’s mouth. The six-plus minute remix begins with a verse from Kanye saying “I’m pa rum pa pum pummin’ all on your stomach” and “I impregnated your mouth, girl.”
  • The FBI is looking into a fire that burned for nearly an hour in one of Orange County’s largest Jewish temples this morning. The fire was reported inside a structure at Temple Beth Sholom at in Santa Ana at 6:08 a.m.

  • Just in time for Valentine’s Day: The owner and operator of a revenge porn website was arrested Thursday night. Attorney General Kamala Harris announced the arrest Friday of Casey E. Meyering, 28, of Tulsa, Okla.
  • A record-breaking 20-hour continuous concrete pour was set to begin in Downtown Los Angeles at 4 p.m Saturday, with a parade and other festivities planned. The 20-minute parade will feature concrete trucks, members of the USC marching band, Mayor Eric Garcetti and other elected officials, while local bars will offer "the longest pour" drink.
  • An accident early Saturday morning left one man dead and at least three other people hospitalized with injuries after a two-car collision in Downtown L.A. A Metro operator said services on the Blue and Expo lines were affected, with passengers being transported by bus.
  • This week's edition of 'Overheard in L.A.' features bits of overheard conversation about a dumb new coffee shop and from local Target stores.
  • A Northern California-based company is recalling more than 8.7 million pounds of beef due to lax inspections, according to federal officials. The products were processed from Jan. 1, 2013, through Jan. 7, 2014, and shipped to distribution centers and retail stores in California, Florida, Illinois and Texas.
  • A driver went the wrong way on the 60 Freeway early this morning, killing six people and injuring at least one other. The driver went east on the westbound Pomona Freeway north of Diamond Bar Blvd. and caused the multivehicle crash at 4:50 a.m.
