Win a David Bowie "Serious Moonlight" DVD

This story is free to read because readers choose to support LAist. If you find value in independent local reporting, make a donation to power our newsroom today.

It's time to redeem '80s era David Bowie. Look at the adorable floppy yellow hair, the highwaisted yellow pants. He's always been a handsome devil, that Bowie, and his 1983 look is very 2006 fashion forward. LAist and the friendly folks at Filter are giving away 2 DVDs. Just fill in the form below.

Three songs from "Let's Dance" are on this concert DVD, recent re-released with a bonus documentary. There are tons of his earlier songs, including "Golden Years," "Station to Station," "Rebel Rebel" and "Young Americans." If you want a preview, here's "Heroes" streaming (it was crummy for us when we tried it earlier today, but rain makes the cable modem very sad).

So sorry, this contest is closed.

Fine Print: Affiliates of LAist, other -ist sites and Filter are not eligible to enter. Entries received by 5PM PST on Tuesday, April 11th, 2006 and have a complete mailing address are eligible to win. Contest is open to Southern California residents. The winner will be notified via e-mail; DVDs will be shipped to the winners.

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Instead, we answer to you and our connected community. We are free to tell the full truth, to hold power to account without fear or favor, and to follow facts wherever they lead. Our only loyalty is to our audiences and our mission: to inform, engage, and strengthen our community.

Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive from readers like you will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
