Who Won the Mega Millions Jackpot? Not Octomom Who Announced She's Now on Welfare
The day Nadya "Octomom" Suleman promised would never arrive is here: she's on the dole. The mother of 14 qualifies for welfare in the state of California, because she is pulling in less than $119,000 a year, according to TMZ. Now she'll be getting $2,000 a month from the state of California to help buy food (and only food).
We've noted in the past that Octomom has fallen on hard times as her fame has waned. Recently, she posed topless to pay rent. She has put the home on Madonna Lane that she can no longer afford up for sale. Previously, when Octomom first faced eviction, Vivid Entertainment head honcho Steve Hirsch stepped in. She's hosted a message for PETA. She tried to sell her knick-knacks. But apparently the bills required to raise 14 kids solo and pay for a balloon payment mortgage is no joke.
As for the lucky Mega Millions winners: there weren't any in the state of California at all, although there were 29 tickets sold in the state that got five numbers (which is worth $227,955). The winning tickets were sold in Illinois, Maryland and Kansas.
