What's Next for Ye (Closed) Coach & Horses?
The septuagenarian Ye Coach and Horses, beloved Hollywood watering hole, closed down for good a few months ago after a prolonged real estate battle, but like most old stars, there's always room for a comeback. The bar, however, won't be coming back in quite the same incarnation, but the new owners, Jared Meisler and Sean Macpherson, are "in the very early planning stages" for the bar's future, according to Squid Ink.Most of the finer details remain undetermined, including the concept, target opening date, and the whole little matter of getting a liquor license. What won't change: Beer on tap, and "respect for the bar's history," Meisler pledges, calling the work he and Macpherson are embarking on at the bar as "a restoration, not a remodel." They're using old photos of the space to help inspire the revamp.
New to the bar will be food service, though the duo have not yet secured a chef or a theme for the menu. The drinks won't be as "hardcore" their other venture, the Roger Room, but he promises "quality drinks and knowledgeable cocktails."
