Body Of 28-Year-Old Woman Found In West Hollywood Dumpster
The body of a 28-year-old West Hollywood woman was found in a dumpster Wednesday morning.
Joie Kinney, 28, was found dead in the 8700 block of Beverly Blvd. near Cedars-Sinai Medical Center just before noon on Wednesday after a witness went to the West Hollywood Sheriff’s station to report a death in the area, KTLA reports. A blanket was covering her body, according to City News Service.
The dumpster is located in a vacant site where Jerry’s Famous Deli once operated before it shut down in 2013. Sheriff's Sgt. Marcello Quintero said that the area is frequented by homeless people who often use it as a place to sleep.
It is unclear how or when Kinney died, but investigators say there are no apparent signs of blunt force trauma and that an autopsy will be performed in the following days.
A man who owns a business near the scene told KTLA that when he went to take out his trash on Tuesday, he noticed several boxes he had previously thrown away had been removed from the dumpster and set next to it.
