West Hollywood Launched Its Bike Share Program Today

Following Santa Monica's and Los Angeles' (finally!) own bike share programs, West Hollywood has officially launched their own service.While the official launch of WeHo Pedals isn't until August 30, the city of West Hollywood launched the pilot program on Tuesday with a ceremony at city hall. People who attended the program were able to take a peek at the green bikes that will make up the fleet and see how the system works—they were also able to enroll with a founding membership at the very nice price of $69 for a year (the price will increase to $99 on September 6).
"We are so excited to offer bike share to the West Hollywood community as well as to visitors," said Mayor Lauren Meister in a statement. "WeHo Pedals will be a fun and easy way to explore our city, to run quick errands, or to grab a bite without having to get in the car. And, with WeHo Pedals, you won’t have to worry about finding a parking spot once you reach your destination!"
According to Curbed, rates for the program start at $7 per hour and monthly ($25) and yearly ($99) plans with 90 minutes each day are available.
For now, there will only be four WeHo Pedals stations operating, at West Hollywood City Hall, West Hollywood Park, the intersection of Santa Monica and North Crescent Heights boulevards, and on Santa Monica Boulevard between Holloway and North Olive drives. Once it is fully up-and-running, Pedals will have 20 stations, primarily along Santa Monica Boulevard:
