Warrant Issued for Lindsay Lohan's Arrest*

Congress has cut federal funding for public media — a $3.4 million loss for LAist. We count on readers like you to protect our nonprofit newsroom. Become a monthly member and sustain local journalism.

Sometime after Sunday's MTV Movie Awards, the SCRAM bracelet strapped to Lindsay Lohan's leg generated an alarm report to law enforcement officials that there had been a violation, TMZ is reporting.

"Judge Marsha Revel has just issued a bench warrant for her arrest" this afternoon, the gossip site adds, indicating that the SCRAM alarm is why Lohan is now a "wanted woman."

For much of this afternoon Lohan has been posting to her Twitter account angrily that the SCRAM alarm reports are all false. "My scram wasn't set off-Its physically impossible considering I've nothing for it to go off-All of these false resports [sic] are absolutely wrong," she said, adding "This is all because of a FALSE accusation by tabloids& paparazzi& it is fucking digusting- I've been more than I'm compliance &feeling great."

Lohan is pointing to something a friend put on her during an after party to explain the false reports: "It's from the light up bracelet Johnny put on me-also, they can check probation records for alcohol as i got tested YESTERDAY," she replied to at least two people on Twitter.

Her response to someone telling her there was a warrant issued for her arrest was a simple: "What?"

*UPDATE: The warrant has been recalled. Lohan's bail bondsman has posted $20,000 bail for the actress to keep her out of jail, TMZ reports.
