With today apparently being National S’mores Day we thought we’d see if there were some good recommendations out there.

LA Weekly did a round up of six of the best spots to get s’mores around Los Angeles. Their list includes Luna Park, Gyu-Gaku, the Munchie Machine, Gotta Have Smore, etc.

But personally I feel the best place to get a s’more is the fire pit in your backyard. Get a bag of marshmallows (vegan ones can be found out there) and some graham crackers from your local grocery store, take the piece of chocolate that has been in your cupboard forever, and you have a desert that is truly hard to beat.

And if you are one of those perfectionists that needs it just right eHow has broken it down, step-by-step explaining how to make the perfect s’more.

If you have any s'more making secrets or local restaurants that serve it up, let us know!

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Instead, we answer to you and our connected community. We are free to tell the full truth, to hold power to account without fear or favor, and to follow facts wherever they lead. Our only loyalty is to our audiences and our mission: to inform, engage, and strengthen our community.

Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive before year-end will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
