A suspect has been arrested in the death of a woman who was shot in front of a home in Irvine, reports the OC Register.

The woman's neighbors reported hearing screams and then gunshots just after 2:00 p.m. today. Authorities encouraged some residents to evacuate the area, and others remained in their homes while police searched for the suspect, who was originally described as a 35-year-old Hispanic man, according to KTLA. Details about the suspect haven't been confirmed since his arrest.

After the shooting, the woman was found lying on the ground by authorities. She died at the scene.
