Miss California to Keep her Title; 'We're Very Proud of Her,' Says Trump

Amid her anti gay marriage stance and contract breaches, Miss California Carrie Prejean gets to keep her tiara. That after a big press conference in New York City this morning with Donald Trump, who runs the Miss Universe pageant. "He said that she had given an honest answer to a tough question, and that there’s nothing wrong with the [semi-nude] pictures of her," the New York Times reported. “'We’re very proud of her,” he said, calling her strong, tough, smart and very beautiful."

In response, Prejean thanked God for trusting her with "this large task" and giving her the strength to stand for her beliefs. “I am convinced more than ever of the importance of standing up for your beliefs and convictions,” she said, also blasting Perez Hilton who honed in on her gay marriage stance.

HIlton is stunned. "The Donald says that all the topless photos that have leaked are no big deal," he blogged this morning. "He did not touch upon the many ways that Carrie Prejean has broken her contract with the Miss USA pageant. WTF????"

Still, Miss California pageant organizers are moving on without her. Yesterday, they said runner up Tami Farrell will stand in at functions and appearances because Prejean is basically non-responsive to requests. "Up to now, it's been very difficult to get in touch with her," they said. "She doesn't answer her phone. Her pastor does."
