Seal Beach Man Threatens Relative With 5-Foot Samurai Sword
An Orange County man allegedly became so irate during an argument with a family member that he lunged at her with a five-foot-long samurai sword.
The OC Weekly reports that Andrew Baoan Nguyen, 21, of Seal Beach pulled out his sword on Monday at about 4:30 p.m. No one was hurt, but Nguyen still fled the scene. According to ABC News, the female relative upon whom the sword had been pulled then ran out of the house and tracked down the closest police officer, who put out a description of Nguyen.
He was soon seen driving on the 405, and was subsequently pulled over and arrested.
Nguyen now faces assault with a deadly weapon and attempted murder charges, and on top of that, he's looking at charges for cocaine use and possession.
