There are many qualities you might want in someone looking after the welfare of schoolchildren. A propensity for violence and pimping is probably not among them.

KTLA reports that Moreno Valley school board member Mike Luis Rios, 42, was arrested on Wednesday for trying to get at least six females -- four adults and two underage girls -- to become prostitutes and work for him. Two adults allegedly agreed; the other four shot him down.

But the charges against Rios don't end there. He's also accused of two counts of rape, and had previously been charged with attempted murder.

Rios has been a member of the school board since 2010 -- a position he allegedly used to try to recruit women for prostitution, by telling them he worked on the school board and offering them jobs -- but since he hasn't been convicted, he hasn't been kicked off the board.

The Moreno Valley Democratic Club is trying to have Rios recalled.
