A 19-year-old woman has been charged with the murder of her brother's girlfriend whom she allegedly stabbed to death with a pair of scissors.Prosecutors said Lisette Kimberly Moreno got into a heated argument with her brother's girlfriend, 21-year-old Annette Martinez, early Sunday around 2 a.m. in their shared Rowland Heights apartment before she stabbed Martinez with a pair of scissors, according to the L.A. County District Attorney's Office. Witnesses told CBS Los Angeles that the suspect stabbed Martinez in the neck before fleeing.

L.A. County Sheriff's deputies arrived at the scene and found Martinez, a mother of two, lying in the doorway with a stab wound. She was rushed to a hospital, where she died.

Deputies later found Moreno in the apartment complex and arrested her, the San Gabriel Valley Tribune reported.

Authorities found the murder weapon at the scene.

Moreno has been charged with one count of murder, with the special allegation that she used a dangerous weapon—a pair of scissors. She's being held at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood in lieu of $1 million bail. If convicted, she could serve a possible maximum sentence of 26 years to life in state prison.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
