Possible Suicide on 5 Freeway Shuts Down Lanes Overnight
A man's body was found last night on a divider on the 5 Freeway in Sylmar near the 14 Freeway, and officials believe his death may have been the result of a suicide.
City News Service reports that he was hit by a big rig in the southbound truck lanes at about 10:45 p.m., and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 5 was closed off where the incident happened until about 12:45 this morning. The man's name hasn't been released.
