Video: Kanye West Investigated For Attacking Paparazzi At LAX (Once Again)

Congress has cut federal funding for public media — a $3.4 million loss for LAist. We count on readers like you to protect our nonprofit newsroom. Become a monthly member and sustain local journalism.

Once again, Kanye West is under investigation for attacking a paparazzi outside LAX during a tussle that was partially caught on video.

Before West flew out of LAX about a week ago, he demanded that the paparazzi stop talking to him or anyone he knows. When one in a crew of photographers deigned to talk to him after his return flight, the situation got nasty.

As West emerged from the airport, he glared at the photographers snapping away. He told them not to ask them questions. One videographer asked, "Why can't we talk to you?" West takes a few steps forward and the photog starts backing away, "No, I don't want to fight with you. Seriously, I don't want to fight with you, man."

He accuses the photographer of trying to get him in trouble so that he will have to pay out $250,000. TMZ notes that this photographer who goes by Dano just happens to be the same guy that Britney Spears attacked with her umbrella in 2007.

The photog backs away and says, "No-no, no-no" just as West lunges for him. The rest of the altercation wasn't caught on this photographer's camera, but given that this was happening at LAX in full view of several photographers, we're sure there's plenty of footage of what happened next.

Paramedics were called to the scene, but they said that the photographer didn't have any obvious signs of injury. West left before police arrived, but LAPD says the incident is under investigation, according to the Los Angeles Times.

West was arrested for smashing a photographer's camera at LAX in 2008.
