R&B singer Faith Evans was one of hundreds of vehicles subject to a sobriety checkpoint set up by the LAPD near Venice last night. During the stop, Evans was "arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor drunken driving," according to LA Now.

Evans, 37, is the widow of Notorius B.I.G.; she and current husband, Todd Russaw, had a brush with the law 6 years ago for "possession of marijuana and cocaine after a traffic stop near Atlanta." The LAPD made the arrest at about 10:40 p.m.

The Venice-area checkpoint was one of three set up by law enforcement last night to curb drunk driving and to educate the public about the hazards of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
