A man trying to make contact with an ex-girlfriend was fatally shot following an argument in an apartment courtyard. Saul Cameros, 27, had gone to see a former flame who lives in the 13800 block of Sherman Way in the Van Nuys area at around 11:20 p.m. the night of March 4, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. While Cameros was trying to contact his ex, he "became involved in an argument with a suspect in the courtyard of the complex," reports the LAPD. Ultimately, the fight got heated and the suspect pulled a gun on Cameros, shooting him in the upper body.

Cameros was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect fled the scene following the shooting, and remains at large. He's described as a male Hispanic in his mid-twenties, with a shaved head. The suspect was last seen wearing a white tank top and dark pants. Also missing is the weapon used to kill Cameros. The LAPD are asking for the public's help with this case, and for anyone with information to contact the police.
