Update, 2:40 p.m.: According to Officer Diaz per KNX1070, the suspect hit one of the officers twice in the head with the butt of a knife. The other officer fired a couple shots with one apparently entering a Metro bus slightly injuring one passenger. The other shot hit suspect who was brought to hospital in stable condition. This was at the Southeast corner of Sunset and Vermont.

Both the LAPD and the LA Fire Department are reporting incidents in the vicinity of Sunset and Vermont Boulevards, but both cannot confirm if they are related at this early stage. The LAPD reports that at 1:00 p.m. an armed robbery and officer involved shooting occurred in the area at an electronics store. A suspect stole "some cash and cell phones," explained Officer Lee at LAPD Media Relations.

At the same exact time, LAFD got a call about some injuries. d'Lisa Davies, LAFD spokesperson, said paramedics were treating three people down the street on De Longpre Ave. and one person had been transported as of 1:44 p.m. LAPD told us that they knew of only one injury, that of the suspect's shooting wounds. But reports from wires say that a Metro bus was struck by a bullet and that two people may have been injured on it.

More details are forthcoming, but as of right now, a few streets in the area are shut down. Vermont in both directions between Sunset and Fountain are closed.
