Arrest Made in Last Night's Pacoima Drive By Shooting
Last night, 20 year old Ricardo Hernandez was killed by gunfire in a gang-related shooting in Pacoima. The incident took place in the 11800 block of Laurel Canyon Boulevard.
The Daily News is reporting the arrest of 30 year old Pablo Serrano who is "veteran documented gang member possibly trying to make a name for himself."
The incident and subsequent arrest occured when during a routing air patrol the police "began following a speeding car on Laurel Canyon Boulevard near Terra Bella Street." The drive-by shooting was then reported, and the helicopter units alerted the ground units regarding the car they had been watching. A permiter was established, and Serrano apprehended with the assistance of a police dog, who bit the suspect. According to the Daily News:
Police recovered two guns. LAPD Detective Pat Barron said that one gun was high-capacity. Police found 25-plus rounds had been fired at the scene. Police were looking for Serrano's buddy, described only as a Latino.
