Police Arrest Suspect in Connection with Fatal Shooting of 17-Year-Old Winnetka Soccer Player
Police have arrested a suspect in connection to the January 11 murder of 17-year-old Francisco Javier Rodriguez Jr. of Winnetka.
The LAPD announced the arrest earlier today, and will release more details later this afternoon.
Rodriguez, 17, was a popular soccer goalie at El Camino Real High School. He had just arrived home after a tie game against Taft High School when he was gunned down in front of his house. According to City News Service, police believe that a young woman knocked on Rodriguez' door to get him to come outside just before he was shot. She's described as being in her late teens or early 20s with dyed red hair.
