A plastic surgeon known for his work on high-profile celeb clients has died in an automobile crash on Pacific Coast Highway, reports KTLA. Dr. Frank Ryan, 50, was in his Jeep Wrangler when the vehicle "went off PCH at Deer Creek Rd. in Ventura County around 4:30 p.m. Monday and landed on a rocky embankment."Ryan was discovered by some state lifeguards traveling on PCH. He was lying by the road suffering from head injuries. The lifeguards "rendered aid until fire paramedics arrived," but Ryan was declared dead shortly after.

Right before the accident Ryan used Twitter to share his enthusiasm about hiking "to the top of the giant sand dune on the pch west of malibu" after passing by the site for 25 years and never stopping. He also snapped a pic of his dog, Jill, perched on the dune looking at the beach. During the accident Jill was ejected from the Jeep and was found swimming in the ocean, suffering from a broken leg.

The doctor and his clientele were featured frequently on programs like The Insider, Good Morning America, E! News, Access Hollywood, and Good Day L.A. He performed surgery on celebs like Gene Simmons, Shauna Sand, Vince Neil and Adrianne Curry, though recently he was best known for transforming The Hills starlet Heidi Montag.
