Pizza Fusion Opens New Location in Hollywood

After celebrating their grand opening in Santa Monica this weekend, Pizza Fusion also quietly opened their new Hollywood location on Tuesday. "The response we received at our soft opening on Tuesday was wonderful", owner Michele Orlando said. "Hollywood residents are really warming up to our organic and socially conscious approach to restaurant service."

This new location is the Florida-based eco-conscious pizza chain's 22nd location and second for the Los Angeles region. The company first announced their California invasion in 2008 and now is considering 70 more locations statewide that would open within the next five years.

Pizza Fusion started out in Fort Lauderdale in 2006, the brainchild of college buds Michael Gordon and Vaughan Lazar, and was soon franchised. Their credo is social responsibility, from ingredients to their desire to "redefine the fast casual restaurant industry."

The menu is varied, with a few sandwiches and salads thrown into the mix. The "Very Vegan" pizza features Crimini mushrooms, roasted garlic, tomato sauce and soy cheese. "The Bruschetta", "The Farmer's Market" and "The Greek" (pictured) look exciting. They also feature one of the few build-your-own pizzas that lets you pick your own sauce as well as crust, cheese and toppings. Pizza Fusion also serves desserts, beer and wine, in addition to gluten-free pizza, brownies and beer.

The Hollywood storefront is located at 7950 Sunset Blvd. near Fairfax Ave. However, they do deliver using a hybrid.
