People With No Shame: Fallen Firefighter Scam Edition
One hopes that even scam artists would have a little respect for tragedy. But apparently, there are those out there who don't. The Daily News reports that "con artists" have been soliciting donations in the name of fallen LAFD firefighter Glenn Allen, 61, who died as a result of injuries he sustained on the job last week. According to the Daily News:
"There have been recent reports of people going door-to-door carrying cans, asking for money, taking advantage of this tragedy," [Capt. Jaime] Moore said.
Moore went on to suggest that anyone who receives a solicitation, be it via phone, email or in person should immediately call 911.
