There Was Another Deadly Truck Crash On Same Beverly Hills Street As Fatal LAPD Crash
One person has been killed after a cement truck collided with a pick-up truck in Beverly Hills this afternoon. The crash happened just down the street from where an LAPD officer died in a collision with a dump truck in March.
Today's crash happened around 2 p.m. on Loma Vista Drive at Doheny Road. One person in the pick-up truck died, and the Beverly Hills Fire Department transported one person—believed to be the cement truck driver—to the hospital, according to My Fox Los Angeles.
Aerial footage from local TV stations show that the cement truck overturned and spilled its load.
The pick-up truck looks like it was pretty badly crushed:

Fox says that this is the third crash involving heavy trucks in the same location in the last few weeks. The LAPD crash happened on Loma Vista Drive at Robert Lane, which is just one street north of where today's crash happened. In a story about the LAPD crash that killed one officer and injured another, ABC reported that there's a sign to the entrance of Loma Vista Drive reading: "Vehicles over 3 tons prohibited."
The Beverly Hills Police Department says the street will be closed from Doheny Road to Drury Lane for the rest of the evening.
UPDATE 5 p.m.: It turns out that the person killed in today's crash was also an LAPD officer, who happened to be off-duty at the time:

The @LAPD_Southwest division tweeted out that Chief Charlie Beck was en route to the scene. It's been an unusually deadly few months for LAPD officers on the roads. Officer Nicholas Lee was on duty when he was killed in the previous Beverly Hills crash. Officer Roberto Sanchez was killed earlier this month when a car slammed into his squad car during a chase. And Officer Chris Cortijo was killed last month when a driver crashed into his car while he was stopped at a red light.Related:
